j_lunatic: Caniculae commoda (luna/neville)

Twenty inches on my car's roof...

And probably some of what landed there drifted to points south. I'm damn lucky I don't need to be anywhere before Monday morning (and I'd be going there by bus anyways).

The plan:
Saturday: Let the storm snow itself out
Sunday: Sweep the snow off my car (just finished), and let the sun do what it can to melt this mess
Monday: Take the snow shovel and do some digging out
Tuesday: Continue digging if necessary; by then the roads should be clear enough to go out.
Difficulty: I'm almost out of beer (OH NOES)

A respectfully intended question to those in Colorado, Vermont, Alaska, etc.: HOW do you deal with this sort of thing on a regular basis? Washington, DC normally doesn't get this much snow in three consecutive winters!
